Farewell to Major General KGD Perera RWP RSP USP IG
2019-03-15The Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery bid a farewell to Major General KGD Perera RWP RSP USP IG on 15 March 2019 at his retirement after serving more than 33 years in the Regular Force of the Sri Lanka Army and Ceremony was held at Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda.
The commencement of the ceremony marked by paying tribute to the fallen heroes of the tribe who made supreme sacrifice to the motherland by laying a wreath at the Regimental Monument. All Regular and Volunteer units together with School of Artillery accorded the Regimental Parade in honour of the senior Gunner Officer followed by Tea Party at WOs and Sgts Mess, Planting a Sapling and customary All Ranks Lunch.
The days event also textured with the Guest Night hosted in honour of the outgoing Major General by Officers and their spouses of the Regiment at the Officers Mess.
