Colonel Commandant appraise the 131st Regimental Day Parade along with Farewell formalities
2019-04-25Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery proudly celebrated its 131st Anniversary along with farewell to the outgoing 18th Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery Major General Rukmal Dias at the Regimental Headquarters premises in Panagoda on 25 April 2019.
Major General Rukmal Dias, Colonel Commandant of the Regiment appraised the Guard Turnout and Regimental Parade accorded to him by all units and School of Artillery accompanied with Regimental Colours on the occasion.
The commencement of the ceremony marked by paying obeisance to the fallen war heroes of the tribe who made supreme sacrifice to the motherland by laying a floral wreath at the Regiment Monument. All units together with School of Artillery accorded the Regimental Parade in honour of the senior Gunner Officer followed by tea party at WOs & Sgts Mess, planting a tree sapling and all ranks lunch in customary manner.
The day's event also textured with the Farewell Dinner hosted in honour of the outgoing Colonel Commandant and family by all officers at the Regimental Officers Mess with their spouses.
