THE REGIMENT OF SRI LANKA ARTILLERY FELICITATED NEWLY PROMOTED MAJOR GENERALS

A felicitation ceremony was held to express congratulations and respect for Major General NLK Samarasinghe IG, Major General TD Weerakoon RWP RSP USP and Major General WASS Wanasinghe RSP USP ndu who were recently promoted to the rank of Major General in their career as Gunner Officers. The customary event unfolded on 19 June 2020 at Regimental Headquarter premises, Panagoda with the participation of officers and other ranks. On behalf of the Colonel Commandant and all officers and other ranks of the Regiment, the Centre Commandant extended the best wishes of the Regiment to the newly promoted Major Generals.

Featuring the traditional event, first, they offered floral tribute to the fallen war heroes of the tribe who made supreme sacrifice in the name of our motherland. Then they reviewed the Guard Turnout presented by the Regimental Headquarters and accepted the regimental salute accorded by a Guard of Honour mounted by the Regiment. All officers present were posted for a photograph with the Major Generals and day's proceedings were culminated with the All Rank Lunch at 4th Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery.

Major General N L K Samarasinghe IG, Major General T D Weerakoon RWP RSP USP and Major General W A S S Wanasinghe RSP USP ndu extended their sincere gratitude to all past and present officers and other ranks of the Regiment for paving way for their today's success which was filled with many moments of experiences and happiness. Concluding his remarks, they assured that they will be the strength that Regiment is expected out of all Gunners whilst expressing their utmost concern over immaculate arrangements made to share their success.
