Farewell to Major General NLK Samarasinghe IG
2020-09-02The Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery bid a farewell to Major General NLK Samarasinghe IG on 30 and 31 August 2020 at his retirement after serving more than 34 years in the Regular Force of the Sri Lanka Army and Ceremony was held at Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda.
The commencement of the ceremony marked by paying tribute to the fallen war heroes of the tribe who made supreme sacrifice to the motherland by laying a flower wreath at the Regimental Monument. All Regular and Volunteer units together with School of Artillery accorded the Regimental Parade in honour of the senior Gunner Officer followed by a Tea Party at WOs' and Sgts' Mess and customary All Ranks Lunch on 30 August 2020.
The event also textured with the Farewell Dinner hosted on the following day in honour of the outgoing Major General by Officers and their spouses of the Regiment at the Officers' Mess.
