THE INAUGURATION OF DRONE REGIMENT SRI LANKA ARTILLERY
2020-11-12New security dimension in 21st Century has prompted state of concern to reflect the challenges, and opportunities that the future may hold and how best the plans to be made to change with the organizational structure to meet envisaged challenges. The visionary thinking of the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, matters to envisaged and formulate an Army Way Forward 2020-2025 strategic plan. In parallel Regiment of Artillery too process its Way Forward plan.
As a part of the Army Way Forward 2025 strategic plan, the long awaited aspiration of poses own surveillance regiment in Sri Lanka Army came to a reality. The official inauguration of the DRONE Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery was held on 12 November 2020 at the Army Headquarters. The Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, Principle Staff Officers, Council Members of Sri Lanka Artillery, Directors, Senior Officers, Centre Commandant, Commander Artillery Brigade, Deputy Centre Commandant, Officers and Men from 15 DRONE Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery and Director Sri Lanka Institute of Nanotechnology Mr Manju Gunawardana and his team were attended for the ceremony.
