" Operation Gratitude for our Military Kids ", donation of Tablet PCs to students of Artillery families organized by Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch took place on 13 Mar 2021 at Sri Lanka Army Indoor Stadium - Panagoda. 127 Tablet PCs each worth of Rs. 55,000.00 were donated for children of Officers, Other Ranks and Civil Servants of Regiment of Artillery, who are unable to proceed with distance learning through internet with the Covid - 19 Pandemic.

The President - Army Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Sujeewa Nelson, graced the occasion as the chief guest. The commencement of the programme marked by lighting of traditional oil lamp by the President - Army Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Sujeewa Nelson, The President - Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch - Mrs. Shyamini Kotuwegoda, Mrs. Thanuja Dias and all Donors, Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and The Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Artillery - Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda and Commander Security Forces (West) and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Light Infantry Major General Wasantha Abrew.

At the outset of the welcoming ceremony, a two-minute silence was observed paying respect to the fallen heroes of the nation. Thereafter Mrs. Shyamini Kotuwegoda delivered the welcome speech. Then Mrs. Thanuja Dias addressed the gathering on behalf of the donors.

As an honour of participating the event, a memento was presented to Mrs. Sujeewa Nelson - The President of Army Seva Vanitha Unit by Mrs. Shyamini Kotuwegoda. After that a student delivered a speech representing all beneficiaries and thanked to the donors and the President of Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch for giving them a precious gift.

Dr. Mrs. Indika Vidanagamage conducted a lecture for the students regarding Use of Technical Devices in correct manner. Day’s programme was concluded after vote of thank delivered by, Mrs.Chamari Dissanayake, Secretary of Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch.
