Lt Col WASM WIJAYALATH RSP psc IG SLA assumed duties as the 09th Commanding Officer of 15 Drone Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery on 21 July 2022 at Headquarters 15 Drone Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery Panaluwa.

Programme for assuming duties commenced with reviewing the Guard Turnout. As a symbolic gesture of taking over the command, Lt Col WASM WIJAYALATH RSP psc IG SLA placed his signature for a formal document after a brief religious observance. The day's event itinerary included with planting of a sapling, troop address, all ranks tea and a camp visit.
