Historic Milestone in Regiment History

In a momentous occasion for the regiment, the first-ever Gunners Seminar was conducted on 26 May 2023, at the School of Artillery. Traditionally, the Instructors in Gunnery (IG) Seminar was an exclusive platform limited to IG qualified officers within the regiment.

However, recognizing the immense value of diverse perspectives and importance of sharing the knowledge and experience, the Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and Colonel Commandant, Sri Lanka Artillery, Major General W A S S Wanasinghe RSP VSV USP ndu along with the Regimental Council open up the seminar to all Gunner Officers this year. He was present during the entire seminar and also grace the occasion as a Chief Guest. Over 70 senior officers, including the Regimental Council members, attended the seminar, which featured three research presentations on Artillery and the contemporary context.

The days session concluded with an interaction session at the Officers' Mess, Minneriya. The event showcased the commitment for endless learning on broadening the horizon of Gunners which the Regiment is focusing throughout.
