Sri Lanka Artillery Won the Overall Championship of the Army Inter Regiment Athletic Meet 2011.
2011-11-04Regiment of Artillery has won the Championship of the Army Inter Regiment Athletic meet for the consecutive 31st year by obtaining 242 points while SLEME in the second place by obtaining 168 points. Artillery mainly dominated all track & Field events. Light "Tug of War " team became winners & heavy became runners-up. WO 1 Chaminda Wijekoon has performed extemely well in all his events and adjude as the best Athlete of the year. A Special momento was awarded to the the spouse of late Brig RP Liyanage by the Commander of the Army in appreciation of the service rendered towards to the Army Athletics by the late Gunner. Regiment of Artillery salutes all Gunner Athletes for their performances to keep the Regiment proud.
