Bombadier Asela Gunaratne is the Second Gunner to Represent Sri Lanka in Test Cricket
2016-10-30Bdr Gunaratne DGAS (Asela) make his debut in the Test Cricket in the ongoing Test series of Sri Lanka vs Zimbabwe in Harare on 29 Oct 2016. He was selected in the Twenty 20 Iternational squad for Sri Lanka tour to India in February 2016. He made his T20 debut on 14 February 2016. He made his Test debut for Sri Lanka against Zimbabwe on 29 October 2016.
Second Gunner to represent Test for Sri Lanka and third from the Sri Lanka Army. Bdr Gunaratne has captained the Army Premier Team 2015/2016 season where his performances have shown the birth to national squad. Non Commissioned Officer hails from Rahula Vidyalaya Katugastota Kandy and serving under 6th Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery. He is very promising batsmen/all rounder with extra talent. Colonel Commandant & All Ranks of the Regiment wish him all success in his future endeveours.
