Sri Lanka Artillery bid farewell to its outgoing Adjutant General of Sri Lanka Army Major General AS de Z Wickramaratne USP ndc psc IG on 01 April 2017 who retired after serving more than 33 years in the Regular Force of the Sri Lanka Army. Ceremony was held in its customary way at Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda.
The commencement of the ceremony marked by paying tribute to the fallen heroes of the tribe who made supreme sacrifice to the motherland by laying a floral wreath at the Regiment Monument. All Regular and Volunteer units together with School of Artillery accorded the Guard Turnout and Regimental Parade in honour of the senior Gunner Officer followed by tea party at WOs and Sgts Mess, planting a tree sapling and all ranks lunch in customary manner.
The days event also textured with the Farewell Dinner hosted in honour of the outgoing Adjutant General of Sri Lanka Army by all Officers of the Regiment at the Officers Mess.
Major General Senaka Wickramaratne commented in his speech both at the Regimental Parade and Farewell Dinner, that extending his heartfelt gratitude for the generous assistance offered by many ways by all Officers and Other Ranks during his military career.
