2018-06-09Lt Col L C K Pathirana RSP IG SLA assumed office as the 26th Commandant of the School of Artillery on 9 June 2018 in a grandiose ceremony held at School of Artillery, Minneriya.
Programme for assuming duties commenced with reviewing the Guard Turnout presented by the School. Then as a symbolic gesture of taking over the command, Lt Col L C K Pathirana placed his signature for a formal document in a presence of Chief Instructor, Instructors in Gunnery, Adjutant, Regimental Sergeant Major and Staff of S of A after a brief religious observance and during "Chanting Pirith". Lighting of the traditional oil lamp was the next in line. The day's events also extended with a tree planting, tea party and Troop address at the main hall where all members of S of A attended.
