2018-08-20Lt Col K S P Pothupitiya USP psc IG assumed office as the 09th Commanding Officer of 14th Rocket Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery on 20 August 2018 in a grandiose ceremony held at 14th Rocket Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery, Kalankuttiya.
Programme for assuming duties commenced with reviewing the Guard Turnout presented by the Unit. Soon after the symbolic gesture of taking over the command, Lt Col K S P Pothupitiya placed his signature for a formal document after a brief religious observance whilst "Chanting Pirith". The day's events also extended with a tree planting, all ranks tea party and troop address where all members of 14 SLA attended.
