Distribution of Dry Ration Packs Project Organized by the Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch

In order to commemorate the 132nd anniversary of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery and to give merits to the fallen heroes of the Regiment also invoking blessing to all ranks and their families, the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Regiment chose indulge in a meritorious deed by distributing packs of dry rations to 175 poverty stricken families during the lockdown in the country due to the deadly pandemic, COVID 19.

The recipients of the food parcels were villages of Katupotha and Palanda of the Moragasdeniya Grama Niladhari Division of Baduraliya which is under Kaluthara District, on the 20 April 2020.

The parcels containing 2kg of rice, 1kg of dhal, 1kg of sugar, 3 Packs of milk powder, 2 Packs of biscuits, 5 Packs of eggs, 1 pack of salt, 1 Pack of noodles and 3 Packs of soya meat, were distributed with the help of IP Dilruk - OIC and IP Dilum Munasinghe of the Baduraliya Police Station and Mrs Yamuna, Grama Niladhari of the Division.

Maj Saminda Perera and the staff of Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch attended the event representing the members who were unable to participate in this meritorious deed due to preventive measures that are in place.
