Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery and Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch Celebrate Vesak Festival 2026 in a Spirit of Religious Harmony
2026-06-01The Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery, together with the Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch, celebrated the Vesak Festival 2026 with devotion and religious harmony under the guidance of the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery, Major General K V N P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc and the President of the Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Vindya Premaratne. The event was consisted of Vesak Bhakthi Gee programme and Vesal Dansela on 31 May 2026 in front of Sri Bodhirajaramaya Temple, Panagoda conjunction with the sacred Vesak Festival, symbolizing peace, compassion and unity.
Vesak Bhakthi Gee programme created a devotional atmosphere through religious music and spiritual reflection. Concurrently, the Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch conducted a series of Dansal at the Security Forces Headquarters (West) Vesak Zone, offering bread with seeni sambol, Samaposha, Biscuits and Milk tea to devotees and visitors reflecting the true spirit of generosity associated with Vesak.
The Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery, together with the President of the Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army, Senior Officers, their spouses, Officers, and Other Ranks of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery participated in the event. The celebration stood as a meaningful expression of unity, compassion and commitment to religious and cultural values strengthening the bond within the Gunner Family.
