Honouring Brilliance, Inspiring Greatness : A Scholarship Awarding Programme Conducted by the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Artillery

The Seva Vanitha Branch Sri Lanka Artillery successfully conducted a Scholarship Awarding Programme on 20 June 2026 to recognize and reward the outstanding academic achievements of the children of the Artillery family. The initiative reflected the branch’s continued commitment to encouraging educational excellence and supporting the future aspirations of young scholars within the Regiment.

A total of 30 students who excelled in the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination – 2025 and the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination – 2025 were awarded scholarships during the programme. Students who obtained 143 marks and above at the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination received a cash award of Rs. 10,000/- together with a school bag filled with stationery and educational essentials. Meanwhile, students who achieved 9 A passes at the G.C.E. O/L Examination were presented with Rs. 20,000/- and a school bag containing stationery items.

The ceremony was graced by the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery, Major General K V N P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, and the Vice President of the Sri Lanka Army Seva Vanitha Unit and President of the Seva Vanitha Branch Sri Lanka Artillery, Mrs. Vindya Premaratne. The programme featured the presentation of scholarships, entertaining performances, and an interactive session for the children, creating a memorable and inspiring experience for all present.

The event concluded with a fellowship tea attended by Senior Officers, Officers, members of the Seva Vanitha Branch, parents, and children. Through this meaningful initiative, the Seva Vanitha Branch Sri Lanka Artillery reaffirmed its dedication to fostering education, rewarding academic excellence, and inspiring the next generation to pursue their goals with confidence, determination, and a commitment to success.
