Seva Vanitha Branch Elects Office Bearers

Seva Vanitha Branch of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery held its Annual General Meeting at Waters Edge, Battaramulla on 12th May 2013 for the election of office bearers for the current year. Colonel Commandant Major General Jagath Rambukpotha and the president Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs Champika Rambukpotha graced the occasion as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively and they were received by incumbent Vice Presidents Mrs Thanuja Dias and Mrs Ludmila De Silva. A considerable number of the members of Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch were present to witness proceedings and all ladies were presented with a gift at the entrance. A minutes silence was observed at the outset to honour fallen Heroes. Major Ravi Dasanayake the Coordinator and Secretary, Mrs Thalatha Wijewardena tabled all facts and details related to activities of the preceding year and the Treasurer Mrs Anushi Perera tabled Accounts. It was a memorable and a breathtaking sight to witness the act of presentations of plaques by the Colonel Commandant, Major General Jagath Rambukpotha to the President and Vice Presidents honouring their untiring and valuable contributions to the Regiment of Artillery in the past. Colonel Commandant in his speech announced the unanimous decision to reelect same office bearers for the current year as well. Mrs Ludmilla De Silva in her speech expressed her gratitude to the Colonel Commandant and assured of a greater service to the Regiment in the year ahead. Mrs Thanuja Dias proposed the Vote of Thanks appreciated all for the assistance rendered and invited all present to enjoy refreshments and the sumptuous lunch prepared by the Water’s Edge.
