Official Welcoming Ceremony of the New President and Annual General Meeting of Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch

A Ceremoney to welome the New Artillery Seva Vanitha president , Mrs Kumudini Wanigasooriya and the Annual General Meeting of the Sri Lanka Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch took place on the 18 January 2020 amidst a large gathering of members at the Artillery Officers Mess – panagoda

At the outset of the welcoming ceremony ,a two minute silence was observed paying respect to the fallen heroes of the nation.

Thereafter the traditional oil lamp was lit by the president and other senior members of the branch. the days events commenced by a Gunners cultural troop.

Mrs. Shirani Ariyasinghe delivered the welcome speech . after taking over official duties as president , Mrs. Kumudini Wanigasooriya announced the new executive committee and the working committee for the year 2020 .Therby the following ladies appointed as office bearers of the committee.

The new president Mrs Kumudini Wanigasooriya addressed the audience and highlighted the vision and objectives of the Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch and shared her views mentioning that the members of the branch should put hand in hand and help in uplifting the welfare of the soldiers and their families ,also empowering army wives of the Gunner family.

At the event ,two financial donations were given by the Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch.

S/153150 Bdr Kumara RMJW - 10 SLA- Rs 100,000.00 donation for renovate the house.

As an honour to the ladies present at the event, a momentous presented to each one of them by Mrs. Wanigasooriya in appreciation of their strength and encouragement they give their Military spouse “ Gunner Officers”.

The ladies had a sing - a - long before the event wrapped.Mrs Shamini kotuwegoda Vice President delivered the vote of thanks making the end of the days proceedings.
