Annual visit of Kaburupitiya Abimansala Wellness Resort
2020-02-03An illustrious moment was marked by the members of the Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch in the life’s of the differently able war heroes on the 31st of January 2020, when they made their annual visit to Abimansala Kamburupitiya.
Mr & Mrs Wimaladasa Wickramasinghe, the parents of the late Lt Kalpa Vishwanath Wickramasinghe SF (KIA) who laid his life for the supreme soverinity of the nation in Aiyakachchi, Jaffna in year 2000, treated the inmates housed at the wellness resort to a scrumptious lunch prepared by the officers mess of Sri Lanka Artillery.
Lt Col & Mrs Sujeewa Rathnayake SLA contributed towards the basket of fruits gifted the Heroes. Lt Col & Mrs Chaminda Thennakoon SLA, Commandant School of Artillery donated 20 Large umbrellas to the wellness resort and Lt Commander Jayawardane (retd) SL Navy donated 18 umbrellas. Lt Col & Mrs Nilantha Wijesinghe contributed 40 cakes of body soaps & 40 bottles of vaseline Intensive care Cream and Mr Kalana de Silva and friends contributed by means of a gift pack of toiletries to each Hero. Lt Col & Mrs Priyantha Dissanayake made a cash donation towards the success of the event. Maj & Mrs Rachitha de Silva donated 40 bottles of soft drinks and biscuits, to be gifted to all the resident Heroes at the wellness centre.
Popular commedians, Mr Ranga Jayakody and Mr Chamal Rathnayake (Jana & Priya) presented a humerous comedy skit entertaining the heroes present and they enjoyed keeping their wheels and toes to the rhythm of the musical entertainment given by the Gunners musical group. On the invitation by the Vice President, Mrs Shamini Kotuwegoda, L/Cpl Pushpakumara & L/Cpl Weerasinghe winners of “Jaffna Got Talentâ€, sang harmoniously entertaining the heroes.
