DISTRIBUTION OF 500 DRY RATION PACKETS TO FAMILIES AFFECTED BY CYCLONE DITWHA

In response to the severe challenges faced by communities affected by Cyclone Ditwah, the Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch conducted a humanitarian dry-ration distribution programme on 29 November 2025.

A total of 500 dry-ration packets were distributed among vulnerable families in the Hanwella area, one of the regions most severely impacted by the cyclone. The initiative was organized under the guidance of the Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery, with the dedicated support of artillery troops.

Major General K V N P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery, together with Mrs. Vindya Premaratne, President of the Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch, And personally handed over dry-ration packs to affected families.

This relief effort was organized with the objective of extending immediate assistance and easing the hardships experienced by the cyclone-affected community.
