Strength in Service, Care in Action: A New Home Begins by the Sri Lanka Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch
2026-04-23A significant and heartwarming event was held on 23 April 2026 at Waligepola, Balangoda, marking the laying of the foundation stone for a new house for a dedicated soldier serving under the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery.
Demonstrating true compassion and commitment towards the well-being of our brave servicemen, a generous donation of 20 perches of land along with Rs. 1.5 million for the initial stage of construction was made by Lt Col ARS De Silva RSP USP psc IG and Mrs. Maheshi De Silva.
The occasion was gracefully attended by the President of the Seva Vanitha Branch – Sri Lanka Artillery, Mrs. Vindya Premaratne, the Vice President, Mrs. Buddhika Liyanage, and esteemed members of the Seva Vanitha Branch, whose presence added dignity and encouragement to the event.
The construction of the house is being guided and supervised by the Commanding Officer of the 11 Regiment, Lt Col SIP Sirimanna RSP psc IG, ensuring quality and timely progress.
This entire initiative is conducted under the close supervision and visionary leadership of the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Artillery, Major General KVNP Premaratne RSP USP nps psc.
This noble endeavor reflects the unwavering commitment of the Sri Lanka Artillery family to stand by its own—extending support beyond duty, and building not just houses, but hope, dignity, and a secure future.
