Children's Day Celebrations at Panagoda and KFC Rajagiriya on 02/10/2011

"We were all children once. And we all share the desire for the well-being of our children, which has always been and will continue to be the most universally cherished aspiration of humankind." Childhood is about innocence and playfulness. 150 children of Artillery other ranks together with their parents gathered at the Artillery premises in Panagoda for a day outing with fun filled activities on Sunday the 2nd October 2011. All were served with refreshments including the welcome drink on their arrival. A Karaoke session was held thereafter and children had fun singing and dancing to the tunes and songs displayed on screen. Children were taken to the KFC Rajagiriya around 12 noon for more fun activities and lunch, while parents were served with lunch at Panagoda. An attractive gift parcel (Books, pens, pencils, erasers, cutters, colour pencils, felt pens, Instrument boxes, pencil cases, Lunch boxes, serviettes, bottles, School bags) and a parcel filled with sweets (Chocolates, toffees, Ferrero Rochers, Snickers, Tic tacs, Kinder joys, chocolate biscuits, cream biscuits, Kellog loops) was given to each child when they returned back to Panagoda from KFC Rajagiriya. A delicious Ice Cream (Butter Scotch/ Blackberry) was served to all children and their parents before the conclusion of the event in the evening.Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Artillery Maj Gen JC Rambukpotha and President Artillery Seva Vanitha Mrs Champika Rambukpotha were present Celebrating Children’s Day is about giving children the right to enjoy and grow into healthy and educated citizens of the country, and if you can teach your child the value of sharing with others what they are lucky to have, then not only your child will grow into a responsible human being, but also another child who otherwise could have ended up being a delinquent, had it not been for your thoughtfulness.
