Annual General Meeting and Farewell to Former Vice President

The Annual General Meeting of Sri Lanka Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch and Farewell to former vice president Mrs Manolanka Wickramrathne was held on 18th March 2017. The ceremony was organized at the Officers Mess, Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda. Mrs. Manolanka Wickramrathne was warmly welcomed in traditional and customary way by the President Mrs. Priyangani Jayasundara and other senior members of the Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch. 38 spouses of serving officers attended the meeting. A General Meeting was called subsequent to the farewell event.

At the outset of the General Meeting and the farewell a two minutes silence was observed to commemorate War Heroes who sacrifice their lives for the motherland. Lighting of the traditional oil lamp by the chairperson Mrs. Priyangani Jayasundara and senior members of the Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch denoted the commencement of the day’s proceedings.

The president made a brief description of the event and welcomed Mrs Manolanka Wickramrathne and stated her dedication, commitment and service rendered. The presentation of glimpses of Mrs Manolanka Wickramrathne’s tour of duty made the event a colorful one. Mrs Champika Sudasinghe express her gratitude to Mrs Manolanka Wickramrathne behalf of the Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch. Several entertaining features of the Army Cultural Group, add glamour to the day’s event.

As a part of the agenda of AGM, financial donation Worth of Rs; 300,000.00 has been distributed by the president to 6 members of gunner families as a life support, essential needs and some educational assistance for their children.
