Felicitation of Civilian Employees of the Regiment of Artillery

It is indeed a known fact that the contributions made by the civilian employees of the Sri Lanka Army during the past immensely supported and facilitated all levels in uniform to concentrate on their respective duty in the field or otherwise during the past and even at present and without hesitation one would say that they will continue to render the same or better service in the future. Seva Vanitha Artillery Branch had thoughts, they arranged a fun filled event with series of activities to all civilian members and their families of the Regiment of Artillery to honour their services and contributions rendered for the betterment of the Regiment. 100 families gathered at the Artillery premises in Panagoda on 23rd June 2012 without any knowledge as to what is in the offing. The event started with the traditional lighting of the oil lamp by the President of the Artillery Seva Vanitha and its members. The display and music provided by “Back Fire”, the beat group of 14th Regiment of the Artillery thrilled the gathering and almost all, children, spouses and men started to enjoy dancing to the music and displayed how talented they are. Some tried there vocal cords by singing to the music of the group. There were competitions in Dancing, Singing and Musical Chairs, winners walked away with attractive prices. Whilst the entertainment and enjoyment was on, the President and members presented a gift pack each family attended worth over rupees 5000.00 and all gents and ladies were presented with umbrellas. Children had enough candies and chocolates to eat. All were served with a sumptuous lunch with ice cream as the desert, all attended dispersed in the afternoon carrying pleasant memories. The President and Members of the Artillery Seva Vanitha express their gratitude to all sponsors for their valuable contributions to make the event a success.
