New Artillery Seva Vanitha Chairperson assumed duties

Mrs Dhammika Hathurusinghe assumed office as 11th President of the Sri Lanka Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch on 30th September 2015. The ceremony was organized at the Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda to mark the occasion, giving priorities to religious observances. Mrs Premila Perera, the Outgoing Prasident, handed over the presidentship to Mrs Dhammika Hathurusinghe at the auspicious time extending her warm wishes to the new president and all members of the Branch. A General Meeting was called subsequent to the event.

All ladies observed a minute silence to commemorate War Heroes who sacrifice their lives for the motherland at the outset of the General Meeting. Lighting of the traditional oil lamp by the new chairperson Mrs Dhaammika Hathurusinghe and senior members of the Seva Vanitha Branch denoted the commencement of the day’s proceedings.

Newly incumbent President Mrs Dhammika Hathurusinghe addressing the gathering, made a brief description of the initiatives she wishes to implement during her tenure as the President of Seva Vanitha Branch. She explained that her priority is with providing benefits to the war heroes and their families and requested the assistance of all members to make her efforts a success. New Office Bearers were also proposed and appointed during the General Meeting. Mrs Champika Sudasinghe, Mrs Manel Weerakoon and Mrs Indika Vidanagamage were conferred with responsibilities as Secretary, Treasurer and Public Relation Officer (PRO) of the Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch respectively.
