Visit of His Excellency General Liang Guanglie, State Councillor and Hon Minister of National Defence of People’s Republic of China to the Regiment of Artillery
2012-08-31HE General Liang Guanglie, State Councillor and Hon Minister of National Defence of People’s Republic of China along with a Chinese delegation visited the Regiment of Artillery on 31 August 2012. HE General Liang Guanglie, the Ambassador of People’s Republic of China in Sri Lanka & other dignitaries represented the Chinese delegation.
Firstly, the Regiment of Artillery accorded a Guard of Honour at the entrance of HQ SF (S).
Thereafter, the delegation visited 6 SLA parade grounds and witnessed the striping and assembling drill of 76 mm Gun, a drill display by the Armoured Crops troops and a demonstration by the Special Forces.
Subsequently, he visited the Gunner barracks of 4 SLA and had an interaction with the Other Ranks of Headquarter Battery.
The next event was the opening of the refurbished Billiard Room/Lobby of the GNC (Gunners’ Night Club) by the Hon Defence Minister of China.
Finally, the Commander of the Army presented a replica of the traditional Lewke Gun to the Chief Guest.
