Lt Col K A P Karawita RSP USP assumed Office as the Commanding Officer of 7th Light Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery on 02 March 2020 at Headquarters 7th Light Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery, Minneriya.

Programme for assuming duties commenced with reviewing the Guard Turnout presented by the unit .Then as a symbolic gesture of taking over the command, Lt Col K A P Karawita RSP USP placed his signature for a formal document after a brief religious observance. The itinerary has included with planting of a mango sapling, troop address and all ranks tea.
