Farewell to Major General MP Karunaratne IG
2021-07-05The Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery bid a farewell to Major General MP Karunaratne IG on 04 July 2021 at his retirement from the Regular Force of the Sri Lanka Army after serving almost 34 years and the Ceremony was held at Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda.
Commencement of the ceremony marked by laying a flower wreath to the fallen war heroes at the Regimental Monument who made supreme sacrifice to the Motherland. A Guard turnout and Guard of honour was awarded to the outgoing Senior Gunner Officer by the Troops of the Regiment of Artillery and the day's formalities were terminated after the presenting of a replica of the Zam-Zama gun to the outgoing Senior Gunner Officer by Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda, the Commandant Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and the Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Artillery at the Officers' Mess.
Event has been organized by strictly adhering to all precautionary measures to prevent COVID 19 Pandemic.
