Lt Col RNCY Ramanayake psc IG SLA assumed duties as the 24th Commanding Officer of the 7th Light Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery on 16 December 2022 at Headquarters, 7th Light Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery, Minneriya.

Programme for assuming duties commenced with reviewing the Guard Turnout. Lt Col RNCY Ramanayake psc IG SLA placed his signature on a formal document after a brief religious observance as a symbolic gesture of taking over the command. The day's event included planting a guava sapling, troop address and concluded with all ranks tea at the NCO's Club.
