Maj Gen B K G M L Rodrigo RSP psc IG assumed office as the 23rd Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery
2023-10-13Major General B K G M L Rodrigo RSP psc IG assumed duties as the 23rd Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery on 13 October 2023 at Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda. Commencement of the ceremony marked by laying a flower wreath to the fallen war heroes at the Regimental Monument. A Guard turnout and Regimental parade were accorded to the incumbent Colonel Commandant by the Troops of the Regiment. As a symbolic gesture of taking over the command, Major General B K G M L Rodrigo RSP psc IG placed his signature to a formal document in the presence of Council members, Commanding Officers, other officers and Regimental Centre staff after a brief religious rituals and lighting of the traditional oil lamp. Thereafter, the Colonel Commandant planted a sapling to mark the official inauguration as the Colonel Commandant of the Artillery followed by group photograph and All Ranks Tea at the 4th Field Regiment premises. The day's event culminated after Officers address at the Officers' Mess.
