REGIMENT OF SRI LANKA ARTILLERY EMERGES AS THE RUNNERS-UP IN THE ARMY INTER REGIMENT ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIP - 2024

The 59th Army Athletics Championship, a prestigious event in the military sporting calendar, took place from the 12 to 23 March 2024 at Mahinda Rajapaksha Ground Diyagama and 31 March 2024 at Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo. Among the fiercely competitive field, the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery showcased exceptional skills and determination, ultimately securing the runners-up position with an impressive tally of 251 points. These remarkable achievements were made possible through the unwavering dedication of all athletes and coaches of the Regiment.

The Commandant of the Defence Services Command and Staff College and the Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery, Major General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP psc IG, Major General Janaka Ranasinghe RSP USP ndc, along with the Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks of the Gunner Tribe, provided invaluable support to our athletes, playing a pivotal role in motivating and cheering them up.

The Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery extends heartfelt congratulations to all the Athletes and Officials whose remarkable performances contributed to this outstanding achievement. Their dedication and prowess were instrumental in bringing glory to the Regiment.
