Gunner Supercross - 2015
2015-07-05Gunner Supercross 2015, the sporting pride of the Regiment of Artillery was held at the Artillery complex, Minneriya on 05 July 2015 for the 10th time. It was a day filled with amusement, pleasure and excitement where 165 racing drivers and riders including foreign and Island’s best Performers displayed their motor sporting skills in the most challenging Gunner Track. Chief of Staff of Sri Lanka Army, Major General N A J C Dias WWV RWP RSP USP ndc graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Aravinda Premadasa was adjudged as the Best Driver and Ishan Dassanayake as the Best Rider of Gunner Supercross 2015. The Regiment of Artillery expresses their sincere thanks to SLADA, all Sponsors, Competitors and Spectators for assisting them to conclude the event as a success. With the vision articulated by Col Comdt SLA, Maj Gen SAAL Perera RWP RSP USP ndu IG, 5 Laptop Computers were distributed among school children of Thamankaduwa Region who obtain maximum marks in the AL/OL examination of year 2014 with the proceeds of Gunner Supercross 2015 apart from the benefits offered to those fallen heroes and disabled members of the Regiment . Approximately 20000 Spectators amassed to witness the races.
