Visit of Brigadier Y R M P Wijekoon (Rtd) VSV to the Regiment of Artillery
2015-12-02Brigadier Y R M P Wijekoon (Rtd) VSV who served as the 6th Commanding Officer of 4th Field Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery, visited RHQ, SLA on 1st December 2015 upon his arrival to Sri Lanka.
Major General M Hathurusinghe RSP ndc IG, the Colonel Commandant of Regiment of Artillery along with the Centre Commandant, Commander Artillery Brigade, Deputy Centre Commandant and other Officers of the Regiment warmly received the Senior Officer during a brief Welcome Ceremony organized at the Regimental Officers’ Mess, Panagoda. Great Gunner Officers also were there to welcome the guest including one of the former Commanders of the Army, General C S Weerasooriya RWP RSP VSV USP.
RHQ, SLA hosted a lunch in honour of distinguish guests which bear a resemblance to a divine glory of the Regiment. The Function was concluded with paying his obeisance to the fallen heroes of the tribe who made supreme sacrifice to the motherland by laying a floral wreath at the Regiment Monument.
