INAUGURATION OF GUN YARD AT 10 SLA REAR HQ - MUDUNGODA
2021-08-06Long term due requirement to have proper Gun Yard for 10th Medium Regiment was fulfilled on 4th Aug 2021. An opportune necessity of Gun Yard to award due respect and provide sufficient protection to the 152mm gun howitzers which was one of the strength behind the victorious SL Army, was a long due pending unattended matter. Working in line with the vision of Colonel Commandant and close supervision of Commander Artillery Brigade, construction project of this Gun Yard was launched on 01 October 2020. The total cost of the project is about 12 million and constructions was well supervised by the Commanding officer of 10 SLA. Construction was done by the skilled soldiers of 10 SLA with fullest commitment and dedication.
Inauguration ceremony was graced by the Commandant Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Artillery as the chief guest. Centre Commandant, Commander Artillery Brigade, Commandant School of Artillery, Commanding Officers of 10 and 14 SLA, Senior officers, officers and men of 10 SLA was attended for the ceremony. Certificate of commendation was awarded to all men who does the construction. During the stay, Colonel Commandant make an opportunity to pay a courtesy visit to Mudungoda Temple too.
The event has been organized by strictly adhering to all precautionary measures to prevent COVID 19 Pandemic.
