"GROOMING THE CAREER OF YOUNG OFFICERS" A TIMELY IMPORTANTTOPIC, DELIVERED WITH RIGHT ESSENCE AT THE SCHOOL OF ARTILLERY

Being one of the senior members of the Gunner Tribe, Major General WBSM Abeysekera RSP USP, the Director General Financial Management and the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture & Livestock, conducted a lecture on "Grooming the Career of Young Officers" at the School of Artillery on 18 February 2022. The Commander Artillery Brigade, the Commandant of the School of Artillery, officers of the Artillery Complex Minneriya including student officers of the Young Officers Course and the officers from Artillery Regiments deployed in Security Forces Headquarters (East) attended the lecture.

Major General Shiran Abeysekera shared his views, opinions, and experiences of his illustrated career in the fields of instructor and staff. The lecture was well designed to invoke interest and widen the awareness among attendees on the said subject. During the lecture, special attention was focused on the young generation of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery who are considered as the future of the Regiment. They were educated to maintain a healthy career progression without being subjected to any predicament. Day's event was concluded by the interaction with the officers who attended the lecture.
