Colonel Commandant Marked His Visit to 9 SLA and Gunner’s Club - Minneriya
2022-02-28The Commander, Security Forces – Mullaitivu and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Artillery,
Major General Sanjaya Wanasinghe RSP USP ndu marked his maiden visit to 9 Field Regiment
of Sri Lanka Artillery at Sinhapura and Gunners Club – Minneriya on 25 February
2022.
The visiting Commander was accorded with a Drive past at the main entrance of 9 SLA and
welcomed by the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel WMTD Wanigasekara USP psc IG
SLA. The Commanding Officer of 9 SLA briefed about the present deployment, duties and
developments of the Regiment. The day's event also textured with planting of a sapling and all
ranks tea. Subsequently, the Colonel Commandant addressed the troops. The day’s itinerary at 9
SLA was concluded after signing the visitor’s book.
In line with the same visit, The Colonel Commandant visited the Gunners Club, Minneriya in the
evening on 25 February 2022. Major PGS Kumarasinghe psc, OIC – Gunners Club, Minneriya
briefed about the present duties, services and development of the Gunners Club. Subsequently the
Colonel Commandant inspected the present condition of Rooms available in Gunners Club and the
Souvenir Shop.
The event took place with strictly adhering to the health guidance given to prevent the COVID 19
pandemic.
