Lt Col S R A M S G Rathnayake RSP USP psc IG SLA assumed duties as the 12th Commanding Officer of 14 Rocket Regiment, Sri Lanka Artillery on 07 August 2023 at Headquarters, 14 Rocket Regiment - Kalankuttiya.

Programme for assuming duties commenced with reviewing the Guard Turnout and planting a sapling. Lt Col S R A M S G Rathnayake RSP USP psc IG SLA placed his signature on the formal document after a brief religious observance as a symbolic gesture of taking over the command.
