Empowering Self-Employment A Sri Lanka Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch Initiative

Under the initiative of Mrs. Swendrini Rodrigo, the president of the Sri Lanka Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch (SLA-SVB) and other members, a highly impactful and timely awareness programme was organized at the Gunners’ Club premises in Minneriya. The event aimed to empower the spouses of ORs' in the Sri Lanka Artillery by focusing on the following key areas:

• Selecting the right self-employment opportunities
• Steps to start a self-employment venture
• Effective financial management
• Strategies to enhance and sustain self-employment projects

The programme saw the participation of over 60 spouses, and was enriched by contributions from experts in relevant fields. In addition to the educational aspect, the SLA-SVB also demonstrated its commitment to the community by donating essential commodity packs to the civilian staff of the Artillery Complex in Minneriya.

Major General B K G M L Rodrigo RSP psc IG, Commander of the Security Forces (Central) and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Artillery, along with Senior Officers and other officers, attended the event, marking it a significant and successful initiative.
