GRADUATION CEREMONY AND DINNER NIGHT OF YOUNG OFFICERS’ COURSE 49
2024-09-15On 14 September 2024, twelve young officers took their first step into the proud and prestigious family of professional Gunners as they graduated from the Artillery Young Officers Course 49, conducted from 12 June 2024 to 14 September 2024 at the School of Artillery, Minneriya.
Major General C S Munasinghe WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc IG, the Adjutant General - AHQ, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The day’s proceedings commenced with the course presentation on "The Role of Artillery in the Russia-Ukraine War: Emerging Trends". Number of senior officers including Comd Arty Bde and representatives from all Regiments were witnessed for this glamorous event. At the termination of a comprehensive presentation, the graduation ceremony was held marking the end of an 12-week long course.
Captain J P C Singhawansha SLA of 7 SLA was awarded as the "Silver Gunner" based on best overall performances in the course. The culmination of the entire event marked the Dinner Night held at the Officers Mess – Minneriya.
