COMPLETION OF A HOME FOR A COMRADE OF GUNNER FAMILY

In a heartfelt display of compassion and teamwork, the 14 Rocket Regiment of the Sri Lanka Artillery, under the visionary leadership of the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and the Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Artillery Maj Gen BKGML Rodrigo RSP psc IG, completed a halfway constructed house belong to the family of the late Bombardier Herath HDD, located in Pihibiyagollewa, Abagahawewa, Medawachchiya.

With the unwavering determination, the troops of the 14 Rocket Regiment worked tirelessly over months, supported by generous contributions from local donors, to transform the house into a comfortable and welcoming home for the late Gunner's family. In the morning of 2nd October 2024 by having small ceremony, the Commanding Officer and some members of the unit presented for the ceremony to handover the home to the family. Also, as a gesture of further support, they were also presented with essential home appliances and a collection of dry rations to ease their living and to mark the unbreaking unity of the Gunners’ family.

This extraordinary project stands as a shining example of unity, dedication, and selflessness among all the ranks of the Gunner family by demonstrating the commitment to supporting own and honoring the legacy of a fallen comrade.
