ASSUMING DUTIES AS THE COMMANDANT SCHOOL OF ARTILLERY

Colonel W S A B Dharmaratne RSP USP psc IG officially assumed duties as the 31st Commandant of the School of Artillery on 07 January 2025 at the School of Artillery, Minneriya.

The ceremonial programme marking the assumption of duties commenced with reviewing the traditional Guard Turnout presented in his honour. Following this, a solemn religious observance was held to invoke blessings and mark the auspicious occasion. As part of the formalities, Colonel Dharmaratne signed the official Taking Over Duties document, symbolizing his acceptance of responsibilities as the Commandant.

To commemorate this significant moment, the Colonel Darmarathne planted a Mango sapling within the premises, signifying growth and prosperity for the School of Artillery. He later addressed the troops, where he expressed his vision and expectations for the institution, inspiring the ranks under his command.

The event concluded with an all-rank tea at the Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) Club, fostering camaraderie and unity among the officers and soldiers.
