8th Medium Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery Commemorated 31st Anniversary on 01st January 2025
2025-01-09The 8th Medium Regiment of the Sri Lanka Artillery commemorated its 31st Anniversary on 1st January 2025, with a magnificent and glamorous ceremony held at the Regiment's premises in Kokavil, Kilinochchi. The Commanding Officer was warmly welcomed and honoured with a Guard Turnout at the main entrance in accordance with military protocols, followed by a Regimental Parade. This significant day was further marked by Planting of a Sapling, a Group photograph, and an All Ranks Lunch. To celebrate this milestone, a series of events were organized, including a Bodhi Pooja Ceremony, the Best Gunner Competition, Distribution gifts for civil servants and Inter Battery Tournaments for Cricket, Volleyball and Tug of War. The celebrations also featured functions at the Gunners’ Mess, NCOs’ Club, and WOs’ and Sergeants’ Mess embodying the pride and camaraderie of the Regiment in marking its 31 year journey.
