Major General H H K S S Hewage RWP RSP USP rcds psc of Sri Lanka Artillery, assumed duties as the 28th Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps (SLAWC) following military formalities and religious blessings at the Regimental Headquarters Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps, Borella on Thursday 16 January 2025.

Major General Shantha Hewage RWP RSP USP rcds psc was welcomed by the Centre Commandant Brigadier P M S Karunaratne psc. Upon the arrival of the newly appointed Colonel Commandant the proceedings were followed by a Guard turn out, Guard of honor and laying of flower wreath to the war heroine’s monument.

Subsequently Major General Shantha Hewage RWP RSP USP rcds psc in his new office placed the signature in a formal document symbolizing the assumption of duties as the Colonel Commandant and he addressed the troops. Further, the days programme was included an all rank tea, and a conference with the participation of all staff officers of the SLAWC at the conference hall.
