COLONEL WSAB DARMARATNE RSP USP PSC IG ASSUMES DUTIES AS 25TH REGIMENTAL CENTRE COMMANDANT OF SRI LANKA ARTILLERY
2025-08-29Colonel WSAB Darmaratne RSP USP psc IG ceremonially assumed duties as the 25th Regimental Centre Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery on 29 august 2025 at the Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda.
The day’s proceedings commenced with a Guard Turnout at the main entrance of the Regimental Headquarters, where the incoming Centre Commandant was warmly welcomed by the Deputy Centre Commandant and the Staff Officers of RHQ SLA.
Colonel WSAB Darmaratne RSP USP psc IG officially took over duties by placing his signature on a formal document in the presence of the Regimental Staff, symbolizing his acceptance of the responsibilities of the new appointment. This was followed by brief religious observances to invoke blessings for his tenure.
After the assumption of duties, an All Ranks Tea was hosted at the ORs’ Mess of 4 SLA, attended by senior officers, officers, and other ranks of the Regiment. The programme concluded with a troop address delivered by the Centre Commandant at the 4 SLA auditorium, where he emphasized unity, professionalism, and dedication to regimental traditions.
