6th Field Regiment Of Sri Lanka Artillery Celebrates 40th Anniversary
2025-09-03The 6th Field Regiment of the Sri Lanka Artillery marked its 40th Anniversary on 1st September 2025, commemorating four decades of excellence since its establishment. The anniversary was celebrated through a series of significant events, organized under the guidance of Lieutenant Colonel EBRMPSK Edirisinghe RSP psc IG, Commanding Officer of the 6th SLA.
The festivities commenced on 29th August 2025 with an Inter-Battery Cricket Tournament, aimed at strengthening comradeship among the regiment’s gunners and fostering team spirit, cooperation, unity, and morale.
As part of the celebrations, the temple at Panagoda camp was newly renovated, and a Bodhi Puja ceremony was held on 31st August 2025. This solemn occasion provided an opportunity for the regiment to offer prayers for peace, prosperity, and continued success. In keeping with military tradition, a ceremonial guard turnout and regiment parade were presented to the Commanding Officer on 1st September 2025. This was followed by a group photograph and an All-Rank lunch, bringing together personnel across all ranks and the series of events concluded with a get-together on 3rd September 2025.
