HANDING OVER CEREMONY OF NEWLY CONSTRUCTED HOUSE TO A NEEDY FAMILY

In a heartfelt initiative aimed at strengthening civil–military relations and uplifting underprivileged communities, the Sri Lanka Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch successfully completed a housing project for a low-income family in Paluwaddana, Hingurakgoda, Polonnaruwa. Funded by a generous donor, the project began on 24 June 2025 under the supervision of the Commanding Officer of the 7th Light Regiment, with manpower support from troops.

The newly built house was handed over to the beneficiary family on 11 September 2025 at a simple yet dignified ceremony. Major General K V N P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery, together with Mrs. Vindhya Premaratne, President of the Sri Lanka Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch, symbolically presented the keys, marking a new beginning for the family.

The event was attended by the Divisional Secretary of Hingurakgoda, Government Officials, Brigadier T G I A Ariyarathna RSP IG, Commander of the Sri Lanka Artillery Brigade, Brigadier S D K W M M I Welivita RWP RSP USP PSC, Commander of the 231 Infantry Brigade, Senior Officers, troops, and members of the Seva Vanitha Branch. Their presence highlighted the collective spirit of compassion and service, while the project itself stood as a shining example of the continued commitment to community welfare beyond its military duties.
