Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery Bids Farewell to Brigadier R M S P Rathnayake USP psc IG
2025-10-20The Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery ceremonially bids farewell to Brigadier R M S P Rathnayake USP psc IG on 16 October 2025 at the Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda, marking the culmination of his illustrious military career. The farewell formalities were conducted with due military tradition and decorum at the Artillery Regimental Centre, Panagoda. The ceremony commenced with the laying of a floral wreath at the Regimental Monument in honour of the fallen war heroes of the Regiment. Subsequently, a Guard Turnout and a Farewell Parade were accorded to Brigadier R M S P Rathnayake USP psc IG by the troops of the Regiment, as a gesture of appreciation and respect for his dedicated service and commitment to the Sri Lanka Artillery and the Sri Lanka Army. The day’s proceedings culminated with a Farewell Dinner hosted by the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery, Major General K V N P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, together with Senior Officers and Officers of the Regiment, at the Artillery Officers’ Mess, Panagoda.
