Assumed duties Commanding Officer of the 7th Light Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery

Lt Col T R P Lanerolle RSP USP psc IG SLA assumed duties as the 27th Commanding Officer of the 7th Light Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery on 10 November 2025 at Minneriya.

The newly appointed Commanding Officer formally assumed duties during a ceremonial programme conducted in accordance with military tradition. The proceedings commenced with reviewing the Guard Turnout and followed by a brief religious observance, signifying the spiritual sanctification of the occasion. The Commanding Officer placed his signature on the official document, thereby symbolizing the formal assumption of command.

As part of the day’s proceedings, a ceremonial planting of a Mango sapling was conducted at the camp, marking a gesture of growth and continuity. The day’s event concluded at camp premises with an All Ranks Lunch.
