ASSUMED DUTIES COMMANDING OFFICER OF THE 9TH FIELD REGIMENT OF SRI LANKA ARTILLERY

Maj DLCAK Lekamge IG SLA assumed duties as the 17th Commanding Officer of the 9th Field Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery on 11 November 2025 at Singhapura.

The newly appointed Commanding Officer formally assumed duties during a ceremonial programme conducted in accordance with military tradition. The proceedings commenced with reviewing the Guard Turnout and followed by a brief religious observance, signifying the spiritual sanctification of the occasion. The Commanding Officer placed his signature on the official document, thereby symbolizing the formal assumption of command.

After that the Second In Command of the 9th Field Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery conducted a unit briefing for the Commanding Officer. The day’s events concluded with a troop address, during which the Commanding Officer conveyed his vision and expectations to the troops under his command.
