MAJ MMTKS MOREMADA SLA ASSUMED DUTIES AS THE 17TH OFFICIATING COMMANDING OFFICER OF 5 (V) REGIMENT SRI LANKA ARTILLERY

Maj MMTKS Moremada SLA assumed duties as the 17th Officiating Commanding Officer of the 5 (V) Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery on 21st November 2025 at Bn HQ - Seenipura.

The newly appointed Commanding Officer formally assumed duties during a ceremonial programme conducted in accordance with military traditions. The proceedings commenced with reviewing the Guard Turnout and parade followed by paying tribute to the fallen war heroes at the war heroes monument and brief religious observance, signifying the spiritual sanctification of the occasion. The Commanding Officer placed his signature on the official document, marking the transfer of the leadership for the next tenure.

The day’s proceedings also included planting of a tree sapling, a troop address, and the events are concluded with All Ranks tea providing opportunity to Officers and Soldiers to extend their heartfelt congratulations to newly appointed Commanding Officer.
